Eligibility Criteria for GAIL Limited Recruitment

Educational Qualification:

(1) Executive Trainee (Chemical) -

Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Chemical, Petrochemical, Chemical Technology, Petrochemical Technology, Chemical Technology & Polymer Science, or Chemical Technology & Plastic Technology. They must have secured at least 65% marks in their engineering degree.

(2) Executive Trainee (Instrumentation) -

Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical & Electronics. A minimum of 65% marks in the degree is required.

(3) Executive Trainee (Electrical) -

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical & Power, or Electrical, Electronics & Power Engineering. They should have obtained at least 65% marks in their graduation.

(4) Executive Trainee (Mechanical) -

Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Production, Production & Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical & Automobile Engineering. A minimum of 65% marks in the engineering degree is compulsory.

The upper age limit is 26 years as on 18 March 2026.

Pay Scale for GAIL Executive Trainee 2026

Selected candidates will be appointed in E-2 grade with a pay scale of Rs. 60,000 - 1,80,000 per month. The initial basic pay will be Rs. 60,000 during one-year training-cum-probation. In addition to basic pay, candidates will receive Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA), perks and allowances under cafeteria approach, Performance Related Pay, HRA or company accommodation, medical facilities, group insurance, provident fund, gratuity, pension, and post-retirement medical benefits as per company rules.

Selection Process for GAIL (India) Limited 2026

Selection will be made on the basis of GATE-2026 marks. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their GATE-2026 scores. Shortlisted candidates will be called for group discussion and/or personal interview. For certain PwBD categories, in lieu of group discussion, a case study or written test may be conducted. The minimum qualifying marks are 60% for UR/OBC/EWS, 55% for SC/ST and 50% for PwBD in the interview. Final selection will be made on the basis of GATE scores and overall performance in the selection process.
